CARL’S JR. AND HARDEE’S UNVEIL THE MOST AMERICAN BURGER EVER
CARPINTERIA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--This summer, Carl’s Jr. ® and Hardee’s® are serving up a delicious symbol of freedom with the arrival of the Most American Thickburger®, available beginning May 20. The Most American Thickburger unites three popular American picnic foods together on one bun: a split hot dog and crunchy Lays® Kettle Cooked Potato Chips atop a charbroiled 100 percent Black Angus hamburger patty, along with a slice of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup and mustard, served on a Fresh Baked Bun. Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue 2014 Rookie of the Year Samantha Hoopes and American professional bull rider Douglas Duncan star in a patriotic new TV campaign premiering June 1.
“Nothing is more American than a summertime cook-out with grilled burgers and hot dogs served with potato chips; three classic American favorites that taste great on their own but we thought they might just taste great together, too,” said Brad Haley, chief marketing officer of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s. “We’ve introduced several popular ‘meat on meat’ burgers over the years that combine the tastes of great American sandwiches with the taste of a great American burger but the combination of a split hot dog, potato chips and a charbroiled 100 percent Black Angus beef patty is, unquestionably, our most American creation yet. If you think about it, hot dogs are cured, just like bacon, and they add a similar taste to the burger, while the Lays Kettle Cooked Potato Chips add a salty crunch that goes really well with the fresh produce and the tangy pickles. Of course, we had to add some American cheese, and it all goes on one of our signature Fresh Baked Buns. A burger this epic required an equally epic ad campaign and we’ve done just that with a new commercial starring All-American model Samantha Hoopes and pro bull rider Douglas Duncan that salutes all things American.”
Created by creative agency 72andSunny, the new commercial, titled “The Most American Thing Ever,” showcases the most American way to enjoy a burger: viewers will see a Stars-and-Stripes bikini-clad Hoopes enjoying a Most American Thickburger in a hot tub, in the back of a pick-up truck driven by Duncan, atop an aircraft carrier, anchored in front of the Statue of Liberty. The commercial will begin airing on TV nationally on June 1 as well as on the chains’ YouTube channels.
